WHAT IS MOKSHA(IMMORTALITY)

Is Scientist believe or not in MOKSHA?

The Scientific community  does not believe the immortality (MOKSHA) as there are no evidences as the scientific theories are based on facts. However ,at the same time ,they do not deny also as the indirect methods do suggest such things.Even a great scientist of the world ALBERT EINSTEIN believed in SPIRITUALITY in later part of his life .There is no dispute in scientific and non -scientific and religious people that KARMA(Action) theory is universally accepted by all but not Tamsic and somewhat RAJSIC Guna people.

Which is the best in SATTVIC, TAMSIC & RAJSIC GUNA?

Up to this point, the three qualities of prakriti, SATTVIC GUNA is the best which leads the aspirant to the higher world (Brahamloka). But this state in itself is not permanent and therefore, cannot be the highest goal of the seeker.Furthermore,it also leads to bondage which can be the hindrance in the practice of austerities.Only immortality (MOKSHA), release from the painful cycle of birth and death and union with the supreme being,is the ultimate goal. With the help of true knowledge and through the grace of Guru (teacher),the aspirant has to overcome his ego which leads him to believe that in the ultimate analysis,God or Almighty is the Doer,Enjoyer and Sustainer. He has to realize that all activities occur through the interplay of sense and action organs in conjunction with the operation of qualities born of Prakriti (Gunas). He is not the actor but a passive beholder.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FUNCTION OF OUR  MIND?

The mind cannot function of its own accord, nor can it perceive by itself its feeling ,it being a by-product of inert matter. The consciousness which functions in and through the mind ,making it brilliant and dynamic must be a principle that is other than the mind ,If a bucket of water looks like molten silver,it must have borrowed the brilliance from sun or the moon, for it to shine forth.Water in itself has no brilliance. Now, if the reflection dances or breaks up,it must be because of the nature of the water in the bucket and not because of the sun itself is dancing in the sky.The consciousness reflecting in the mind is the 'agent', the individualized ego in us,who suffers the sense of self-shattering.He who has understood that he is not 'the reflection in his own mind' but that which is reflected therein-something other than the mind and therefore, something higher than Gunas (Quality)-He(Parmeshwar or Almighty) is the one who has escaped forever the shackles of all limitations, the tears of all sorrows and signs of all disappointments.

Once  the beholder(aspirant),after becoming illuminated understands the dominant role of the qualities (Gunas) as agents of all activities and realizes that there is someone who is different from and higher than the Gunas (qualities) and who controls their activity .In this state,he experiences eternal bliss and then, there is no return to any of the three worlds, described above. The seeker has to realize that origin of the body lies in the three qualities (Gunas) of prakrti(nature). With this realization  one can easily manage to cast off ignorance and transcend the influence of qualities. This results in his freedom from the great illusion of his own involvement as the Doer. According to Bhagwat Geeta, such an enlightened soul is freed from the pangs of birth ,old age and sorrows in this life and attains immortality (MOKSHA).

The characteristics of such a person who transcended the three qualities (Gunas) is that such a person does not hate light(knowledge), activities and delusion when they are present nor does he long for them when they are absent. In this state,he is completely free from the pairs of opposites such as love-hate,heat-cold, friends-foe etc.Such a person is completely apathetic to the fruits of actions and is totally indifferent to what happens around him.He is no longer a participant but an onlooker who watches a sense of action from  a  distance. He remains tranquil under all circumstances and does not abandon his composure even under extreme adversity. For him, sorrow and happiness, agreeable and disagreeable, censure or praise from his peers, honour and dishonour in society, friends and foes and others pairs of opposites are the same. The good things of life do not excite him nor unpleasant circumstances disturb him.For him a piece of gold,a stone or a lump of earth are the same.

Since there is nothing left for him to achieve, all his actions are only for the good of mankind. Anyone who has realized the truth, acquired the knowledge of Almighty (Brahman) and has gone beyond the influence of three qualities (Gunas) born of nature (Prakriti). Therefore, the real test of a perfect one is not in the jungle or in the cave ,but in the market-place where he is teased by the mischiefs of the world.Christ was never so great as when he was nailed to the cross. The true nature in us will come out only when we are crushed;the fragrance of sandal-wood(Chandana) emerges only when rubbed.Such souls (Atamas) are the examples in the recent history like Mahatma Gandhi,King Martin Luther,Sant Gyaneshwar,Sant Tukaram,Prophet Muhammad,Christ,King Ashoka etc who have attained the MOKSHA(Immortality).
